Aufgrund der soliden Wollqualtität und der fast ausschließlichen Verwendung von Naturfarben kann sich der Gom Teppich mit anderen hochwertigen Perserteppichen durchaus messen. Neben guten wollenen Teppichen werden hier in größerer Anzahl Seidenteppiche geknüpft. Als Motive findet man quadratisch unterteilte Gartenteppiche, Jagdschilderungen, Botteh-Motive, Zenrtalmedallions und Vasenmuster. Alle sind liebevoll feingliedrig ausgestattet. Ihre Kolorierung, für die hauptsächlich Naturfarben verwendet werden, reicht von sattem Rot (oft mit leuchtendem Türkis abgestimmt) bis zu lichtblauen, grünen und sogar braunen Tönen. Grundfarbe ist zumeist Elfenbein, zuweilen wird auch Rot als Hintergrundfarbe gewählt.
Trotz der vielseitigen Farbpalette hat der Gom-Teppich niemals grelle Farkontraste, sondern achtet auf eine harmonische Farbabstimmung. Bemerkenswert ist auch die äußerst exakte Knüpfung, die fast an Maschinenarbeit erinnert.
